Richard was unsuccessful at his last test and so was not looking forward to a long waiting time for another go. With the test booking system not open for car bookings, we were unsure when the re test would be. When we got news that the booking site was opening on Friday at 8am, Richard said he would be online at 8am on the dot to look for dates. Unfortunately, he was not able to log on as the whole system crashed due to unprecedented demand. So we went on our trainer booking
Victor Craescu came to Truck School for his car and trailer training. He needed this licence so that he could tow larger trailers behind his car. We trained in the rain for the reverse and uncouple before heading off into test area for the driver training part. Victors driving was generally good, although a little fast in places. Today amidst the storm, Victor returned for his second day which included a refresher of the reverse and the uncoupling before getting into the test
Huge congratulations to Mohammed Maqsood who trained in the rain today for his Mod 4 CPC test. Mohammed passed his class 2 test with Truck School last year and today he returned to complete his journey into the world of HGV driving. Su trained in the rain with him and she did such a good job that Mohammed passed with full 100% score. Great news all round.
Huge congratulations to Courtney Cleary who took both her practical driver CPC test and her practical driving Cat C test today and passed both FIRST TIME. Courtney was another driver caught up in the coronavirus lock down. Although she had an offer to drive as a key worker, Courtney was unable to get a key worker cat C test. In the meantime, Courtney knuckled down and took her CPC Case studies theory test. So when we were able to get her a test date, we were able to get the p
Neomy Callas took and passed her car driving test today at the FIRST TIME attempt. Beautiful sunshine was threatened by the thought of a thunderstorm but that stayed away, as did Neomy’s nerves.
we had a really nice sound drive into test centre. A brief stop for a drink and then we arrived at the test centre to be greeted outside by the examiner. This is new protocol since the COVID lock down. After the eyesight check, Neomy drove out of the test centre. Around 40 mins later
Tim Batt was another candidate caught up in the Coronavirus shut down. He had theory tests postponed. Then practical training postponed then CPC theory tests postponed but we eventually got to practical training starting Thursday of last week.
today was the day for both the practical driving test and also his practical CPC test. Tim did us proud by passing his practical test with only 1 driver fault and his CPC with full 100% marks.
well done Tim and also well done to your
Great news as the lockdown lifts and our tests are finally coming through. The wait is paying off for our candidates and today was the chance for Liam Smith to take his go at the driving test. Only 2 minor driving faults shows what a good drive he gave on his test. This is a true testament to Liams driving instructor's training. Well done to Liam and to his instructor also, Gavin Fletcher.
Lee joined the Truck School learners a long time ago. He was unfortunate to have been cancelled off from taking his theory about 3, possibly 4 times throughout the Coronavirus pandemic and theory test centre closures. So when we eventually managed to find him a theory test he could actually attend, he was well prepared for it and was surprised that we could then get him in for his practical training so quickly after. Lee's training started as normal with a few nerves and kerb
Jamie started his training yesterday and after a few reverses in the yard, a few un couples and re couples, it was off to Bristol for a drive around to brush up on his driving skills. During the B+E car and trailer test, there is around an hour of road driving involved and so we need to make sure our candidates can not only do the tricky reverse but can also drive forwards safely. Today, Jamie returned for a little brush up on the reverse and un couple before getting into the
Matt took and passed his car driving test today at the FIRST TIME attempt. Matt was due to take his test on the day they shut the test centres and so it has been a long wait for him to get this one booked in. What a pass it was! He returned to the test centre in Bristol Kingswood and the examiner gave a couple of words of advice for future driving but he gave no clue to the number of actual faults on his driving. It wasn't until the email came through that we realised there w
