Ryan passes class 1
Well done to Ryan, who passed his class 1 )Cat C+E) test today. This wasn't his first time attempt but he only just missed out on it last time. He came in this morning for a 9.50 test. A little bit of a refresher hour or two before heading into the test centre. With a little bit of advice given after the test, Ryan is now the holder of a full UK HGV class 1 test pass certificate and his new licence will be on the way to him in the post. Well done Ryan.

FIRST TIME artic test for Kyle Sykes
Kyle Sykes decided to take up the challenge of training for his articulated licence. He currently drives Class 2 and so is reasonably accustomed to driving larger vehicles. I saw Kyle on day 3 of his training and I saw him doing the uncoupling and recoupling along with the reverse. To me, even on day 3, he seemed very confident and competent in his control of the vehicle. Today was the day that it all needed to come together as he demonstrated his skills to the driving examin

Lewis Polledri passes car and trailer FIRST TIME
Huge congratulations to Lewis who took and passed his car and trailer test this morning at the FIRST TIME attempt. Even though the requirement for taking a test in the car and trailer is stopping and they are not conducting car and trailer tests from the 20th September onwards, there is no telling when the legislation will actually change. With this in mind, the company that Lewis works at wanted him to continue with the test as they needed him to tow fairly soon. He managed

Kathryn Cockle passes her car driving test.
Huge congratulations to Kathryn Cockle who passed her car driving test today. Kathryn started learning to drive a while ago during the lockdown and as she couldn't drive with a driving instructor, her mum stood in and taught her the basics. When a slot became available, we met Kathryn and it became clear that her mum had done much much more than just the basics. Kathryn was at a very good standard of driving but with some bad habits and some myths to sort out. Gone are the da

Anthony Harcourt passes class 2 FIRST TIME
Well done to Anthony Harcourt for taking and passing his class 2 test at the FIRST TIME attempt. Anthony was recommended to Truck School by a friend who also passed with us first time so the pressure was on. Anthony's trainer, Su, mentioned that he was really good during training and listened to the advice given and reacted well. He was driving our manual 18t rigid lorry which has a 6 speed gearbox. Negotiating the Bristol traffic was a challenge but Anthony managed to pass h

Hannah Leonard passes her car test
Huge congratulations to Hannah Leonard who passed her car driving test today. Well done to her instructor, Paul too.

Kieran Fletcher passes Class 2 AND Mod 4 FIRST TIME
Kieran came to Truck School to take his training for his HGV licence. We arranged just the driving and the Mod 4 CPC as he sorted the rest of the procedure himself. After passing the theory tests, we had a date set into the diary to start his training. The plan being to take both the practical driving test AND the mod 4 CPC test on the same day. Kieran put the effort in to listen to Su, his trainer and did such a good job that he gained only 4 driver faults on the practical d

Chris Sams passes Class 2 test Faultlessly
Chris Sams came to Truck School to add another category to his licence. Chris already holds his bus licence and has been driving buses for many years so he has plenty of experience in driving large vehicles. However, driving a lorry does have some differences to driving a bus and so a test is needed to ensure the driving standards are still maintained. Well, Chris certainly showed this to the examiner as he went in with no faults and came back with no faults too. Another clea

Car and Trailer test pass FIRST TIME
Well done to Matthew Flood who took and passed his car and trailer test today at his FIRST TIME attempt. Matthew came to us yesterday to start his 2 day training and met this morning to put the finishing touches to his drive all ready for the driving test. Matthew started with the uncouple and re couple and then onto the reversing exercise. Out on the road for around an hour of driving and back to the test centre. Matthews boss even turned up tot he test centre to give some l

FIRST TIME artic test pass for Mohammed
Mohammed Maqsood took and passed his Class 1 test today at the FIRST TIME attempt. Mohammed came to us for Class 2 training a few years ago and has recently been driving for Palletways. He wanted to upgrade to class 1 and who better to train him than Duncan, who also used to work for Palletways. Off to the training while reminiscing about previous jobs on the Palletways trucks and talking about old colleagues but when it mattered, the training was done to such a high standard
