Jackson passes after a long wait
Jackson Grainger from Bath took and passed his driving test today after a very very long wait due to lockdowns.
Jackson hadn't driven for around a year after being at test standard. Lockdowns had prevented his learning and he did have a test booked for December 2020. Unfortunately, DVSA cancelled that test due to the national lockdown and they re booked it for today, a mere 7 months later.
We decided that as it had been so long, Jackson should take a driving session each day of this week and so we set about knocking the rust off his driving and getting it back up to scratch.
It was still a little lumpy in the driving but overall, pretty safe. So this morning was an early start to get to the test centre for the 8.20 test. Out he went and he was asked to demonstrate his driving to the examiner. He completed the reverse parallel park as his reverse manoeuvre and following a few more things that the examiner wanted to see, he returned to the test centre for the result.
The examiner told him that he had passed and gave some good advice that he should relax but at the same time, get his foot down on occasion.
Still, we took the criticism and the examiner completed a pass certificate.
Well done Jackson.
